How to Set Up a Canton Wallet

Step-by-step

1. Step 1

   Pick your wallet

   Choose between Bron (browser + mobile, non-custodial), 5N Loop (mobile DeFi-first), or Console Wallet (developer/desktop). For most beginners, Bron is the closest to a MetaMask-style experience.

2. Step 2

   Install or open the wallet

   Bron: open bron.org in a desktop browser, or install the iOS / Android app from the official store. 5N Loop: cantonloop.com or the iOS/Android app. Console Wallet: download the desktop binary from consolewallet.io.

3. Step 3

   Create a new wallet and back up the recovery phrase

   Each wallet generates a 12 or 24-word recovery phrase. Write it down on paper — never screenshot, never email, never paste into a notes app. Store the paper in a fireproof location. If you lose this phrase and the device, your funds are unrecoverable.

4. Step 4

   Confirm the recovery phrase

   The wallet asks you to re-enter words from the phrase to confirm you wrote them down. This is required, not optional — skipping it means you do not actually have the backup.

5. Step 5

   Set up biometric or PIN protection

   Enable Face ID, Touch ID, or a PIN. This protects the wallet on-device but does NOT replace the recovery phrase — biometrics unlock the local key, the recovery phrase regenerates the key from scratch on a new device.

6. Step 6

   Fund the wallet

   Send Canton Coin (CC) from an exchange (SBI VCTrade, Bybit, Gate, BingX, etc.) to your new wallet's deposit address. Start with a small test amount — under $5 — to confirm the address before sending larger amounts.

7. Step 7

   Verify the test transaction

   Watch the wallet for incoming balance. Settlement on Canton is sub-second once the round closes; if the test arrives within 1–2 minutes, you can send the full amount.
